Put an empty "Rainlendar.ini" in the main rainlendar folder and it all came together. Config now works, and I can change skins. Small problem with msimg32.dll however. Tends to crash the calendar. Trying to find a newer .dll (mine is 5.00.1693.1), but no luck so far. Got one (5.1.2600.1106), but it does not work in my system. Anyone have a newer working .dll you can upload?Would really appreciate it :p .

That's right, the one that doesn't work on your system (version: 5.1.2600.1106) comes with windows xp service pack 1. I guess that would make it incompatible with windows 98.
Are you sure that you are not trying to use window transparency (ie alpha blending)? It's only supported by windows 2000 and xp.
Else try this: "You may also send comments and bug-reports to author (rainy@iki.fi). But before you do, check the Rainlendar's section in the Forum. It might already contain answers to your questions."

Some of the skins do have a choice between alpha and non alpha images. As to Rainlendar's forum, that's where I got the info to correct the problem. This included using the latest msimg32.dll file. Right now the calendar skin I'm using is working just fine. If I find out anything else, I'll get back to you :).
Just checked it out. No alpha blended images are being used. Chose another skin and got an error in msimg32.dll. Crashed the calendar. When I re-opened Rainlendar, the new skin I chose came up and everything works fine. Edited the skin to remove the weeknumbers. Also worked fine. The problem does seem to be in the .dll. If anyone else has any suggestions, please chime in.
Mine is 5.0.2180.1
I'm not that familiar with dll-files, so I don't know if it will do you any good. But if you want it, I can send it. Just let me know.

Nice program indeed. The Ripped skin fits really well on my wallpaper. Im not sure I'll keep it though, since it seems a bit more convenient to keep my appointments in my cellphone.

I use Rainlendar not for logging appointments, but simply for checking a date as the need arises; so I don't keep it on my desktop, but launch it (using a hotkey) as and when, and then exit. I have the `always on top' setting checked so that the calendar will immediately be in view regardless of what programs I've already got running.

Thanks Qaz. If you would, I'd appreciate it. Nothing to lose .. if it doesn't work, I can always put back my origional .dll.

Thats not a bad idea. I have like 10 hotkeys on my keyboard Im not using anyway... (Only using the ones that control QCD)
Ok, I don't think I can attach it, so it's at http://koti.mbnet.fi/qaznet
You might also want to check http://www.dll-files.com/
Could be a newer there.

Thanks anyway Qaz. Yours didn't work either. Also, I've already tried the site you suggested, and their .dll didn't work. Replaced the origional.dll, and all is fine again. Nothing ventured, nothing gained :) .
