Since everyone is talking about Rainlender, I thought I'd give it a try. Looks great on my desktop, however I have a few questions. First, it seemed to only use the default skin, no matter how many extra skins I downloaded. Trying to change from default to another skin does not work. Second, I've noticed that most of the other skins are incomplete - they're usually missing bmp files and specific entries in the Skin.ini file. I ended up having to - in effect - create my own skin using the instructions. I then would have to change the file name to "default" to get the thing to work. Naming the origional skin "default2" still would not allow me to change from one to the other. Finally, when I try to change the weekdays from Mon to Sun with the GUI, it reverts back when I close the config window. Actually creating a skin is fun, but I need help in order to figure out how this program is used properly. I know I should ask in the Rainlender forum, but all you guys seem to have no problems with it.

Something is wrong, it shouldn't be doing that. The config file for it should be stored in your application data folder(a hidden folder):
C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name\Application Data\Rainlendar

Is it there?

When you say only default skin worked, do you mean only the 'default'-skin worked or that only the three skin coming with installation package worked?

Is it there?I've got view all files set. There is no C:\Documents and settings folder (I'm using w98SE). I can't find any "config" file, just individual .ini files for each skin. The rainlendar config GUI is there, but doesn't change anything when I edit it.

Only the skin (any skin) which is named (or renamed) "default". When I recompiled the .ini file for Candy (green), and renamed it "default", it worked fine. The origional default (now named "default2"), however, could no longer be chosen.

Can it save any of your config settings? Sounds like it isn't saving your settings.

Is there a rainlendar.ini anywhere on your PC? If not, try putting one in your rainlendar folder.

No, acozz, nothing in the config GUI can be saved. I do have a rainlendar.ini file in my system. It seems to be a generic file with no specific pointers to .png or .bmp. I copied that .ini to each skin folder, but it did not help.

ATTENTION ALL!

I think I've solved the problem. Going to the rainlendar site forum, I dug through posts and found what I was looking for (I hope). I have to create an empty "rainlendar.ini" file in C:\Program files\Rainlendar. This might solve the problem. stay tuned for results :D .
