Should we have a QCD font? A font, that when people see it, they will instantly think about QCD player? This thread is dedicated to a font for QCD. You got a special font to share? Post it here! Also vote here for your opinion whether QCD should be associated with a font that will identify it and distinguish it from other media players on the internet.

yeah bring on the Q-FONT , good idea rex :globe:
we could have it on the QCD T-SHIRT too (if it ever gets made)

Yeah, good idea as well Todd. :D The font will then also be printed below the QCD logo on the T-shirt that we, by now, should be able to buy online :cheeky:

and i think, there's stil a font, you can associate with QCD....

just look @ the QCD - Logo - left part (http://www.quinnware.com/img/base/title.jpg)

i dunno if this is a font or if Matt/Paul did them theirselve, but if i see this Font/Logo, my first thought is : "ah, QCD !"

Yes, great idea. Now perhaps, someone will post instructions as to how to implement these fonts.

My computer is rapidly filling up with fonts and emoticons. Trouble is, downloading them is the easy part. What comes next?

One more thing. This may be the wrong place to post this but here goes anyway.

I want to link to QCD from my website (which doesn't exist yet). How do I do this? I've inserted the URL but I'd really like to use the QCD logo.

Cheers folks. SCOTTISH RUGBY DIED ANOTHER DEATH TODAY :disappoin

Will result in:

Or upload the image to your own server rather than wasting the quinnware bandwidth. :)

As for the font, no. It's unique enough as it is. I don't think anyone really wants some cheezy font that they can link to QCD.

Is it worse in Mozilla or something. It wasn't that bad for me. Well, not bad enough to fix. Until now.

i doubt you can do that ... considering there's tons of fonts out there
you *might recognize it, but chances are one won't associate it with the player

that is why i consider this thread as a waste of time :(

perhaps not use this for the player but it looks cool anyway

though a font isn't needed, nor has too much of a use, it can be especially good for making backgrounds/logos/etc. A decent example is ph8 and their font (find it @ ph8web.com, band homepage @ ph8.net). While it's hard to read, it is definitely unique. needed, no. useful, not really. but it would be nice to have for the few times we all want our text to look related.

You need to get yourself a Font Manager. A good one will let you look at all the fonts installed on your system and choose which ones you want to have loading. I have the Bitstream FM which comes with CorelDRAW, but there seem to be lots of others (a Google search had 39,500 entries). Check your favourite download site and see what they have.:cheerful:

PS: If you have fonts downloaded but not installed, move them to the Fonts folder in your OS's main directory (eg. c:/Windows > Fonts ).

if i had one of each letter of the alphabet of some text that was hand written
would it be at all possible to turn it into a font?
here's a picture of some of it...:skull:

There are web sites that will turn handwriting into a font. You'll print a form from therir site, fill in your handwriting, scan it and return the completed form to them. Don't know how it would work with something pre-existing like your image tho. Perhaps some literal cutting and pasting? Costs US$10. http://www.fontifier.com/

There are other sites available.

man, i just discovered this    thread. did something happen concerning a special font for qmp ??
and does anybody here know other great font-sites ?? :bandit:

Nope nothing happened. Problem is that most fonts are already associated with something or are registered. If someone can design an original QCD font, that be cool.

(These old threads are so full of nostalgia :))

There are hundreds of cool font sites out there.
I guess i have used 1001 fonts more than any, though i tend to just search for a specific font these days.
