I really like their last album, damnation, but i've always liked their slower stuff more, so this was a dream come true!!!

:skull: i downloaded an opeth tune yesterday called "my beloved immortal"
(i think that's what it was called) not my cup of tea , i prefer my death metal to be a bit more deathly, also i'd probably call opeth melodic black metal not melodic death metal (oxymorons aplenty ha ha ha) but that's just me . do you dig the nastier side of the deathly spectrum too - pungent stench , vader , mortician , carcass etc...? click my sig to sample "the church of pungent stench" the tune "shrunken and mummified b***h" is the best available on the site , but their best tune (in my opinion) is

That's exactly what makes Opeth interesting, it's the contrast from smooth to heavier, from clean to grunt, from acoustic to distorted.

Yes, I like deathier, but I have limits. I'm having problem enjoying band heavier than, let's say, Nile.

I'm going to their show in NYC on the 27th in Irving Plaza. It's going to be my first Opeth concert. The openers aren't that great, but just hearing Opeth will be more than worth it. \m/
