View Full Version : Recording Streams
Uhg!
Anyone with this problem?
I sent a note to Quint with an example of a an MP3 that I recorded from streaming clister through Shoutcast. No word back yet. Anyway it doesn't matter what chanel I stream from when I play back the file it has a BLAST of music from the next song being streamed right at the end of the song. I have been manually editing them but what a PAIN! Any ideas?

Hi Don ..
I'm VERY far from knowledgeable on this subject (as you can see from my previous questions) :) , but I believe I might have a thought on this problem. I've noticed that in Shoutcast the next song seems to come up in the title bar before the end of the first song. I think someone posted at an earlier time that this tends to carry over the stream recording to the next song a tad. I've noticed that no matter how quickly I turn off the recorder, there is always a small file of the next song saved in my storage folder. I'm sorry I didn't find a solution to avoid this, but I hope that at least this might help you understand what's going on. Maybe of of the more savvy members here can explain it better than I can.
Oh yeah .. this is not a bug in QCD, but just a quirk in the streaming system.

Thanks drewkeller .. THAT'S what I was looking for!
Okay well that answers the question as to why.
I guess I will have to research some way of making this work or just keep manually editing the files. I do want to have the title so splitting it off isn't an option for me.
Big thanks for the reply and maybe some day there will be a plugin that will make the process cleaner within QCD.
The player ROCKS besides this and since it's not a bug in QCD, nothing to complain about.
