I voted for "Yes".
I think freedom is for wise people. I believe that on this forum are very wise people and they can use that "freedom" in the right way :)

PLease, why does it have to be this way?? No one in this forum ever intended to abuse posting messages. At least thats what i think. Anyway, its not that im very concerned with this issue, im not bothered with fonts and size myself. Just not sure if this is the way to go, maybe it is maybe it isn't. :(

I agree with RMI. What a "stramash". I don't use all the different colours but I have no problem with other people doing this. Compared to some other boards that I use I'd have to say that this one is unusually well behaved. Frankly, that's why I'm still here.

Not normally being one to "toe" the line - did you see what I did there? - I've decided to sit quite firmly on the fence (ooh er missus).

I've voted for being a wimp but I don't really care what the poll result is, just as long as everybody stays at this forum. I tend to read the content rather than looking at the colours and I have no problem with any of the content.

I think colours are fine as long as it's kept within reason. The large text sizes annoy me though.

Anyway, I'm off to the big football match today - Scottish Cup Semi-Final between Falkirk (my team) and Aberdeen - So I'll have to say ta-ta for now.

Everybody stay cool

I dislike the WYSIWYG editor. IT broke my entire signature on another forum. It was like some crazy HTML, too. Took me a while to code. The editor removed almost all of it and left me with just a link. :(

I also dislike when people don't use the default text. IT's a pet peeve of mine. Unless you are trying to stress/emphasize something, you should use the default text, IMO.

more people want it than not want it so ...
vote "yes" to cool looking posts
or "no" to boring plain ones
just out of interest how many of you use the default qcd skin ?
i'd like to know where the other 1000 or so members stand on this wysiwyg thing ... :skull:

Paul and Matt have more say than anyone.

I think the content should decide whether or not a post is boring or not. I don't generally search the web looking for interesting text colors. Rather, I look for stuff that interests/helps me.

That's irrelevant. Skins are not distracting and you choose which one you want. Where text formatting can be distracting and cannot be turned off.
i'd like to know where the other 1000 or so members stand on this wysiwyg thing ...
A lot of them don't post, so, I'm sure they could care less. Regardless, it's Paul and Matt's decision.

And did i hear something about losing some of those precious new smiley's...
I'd kind of like to see them go, too. I'm beginning to get sick of looking at the grim reaper and skulls as I read posts that don't deal with anything even remotely related to death, hell, poision or anything else. I'm also getting sick of the 3rd grade-ish posts with pictures instead of words like so:
Dude, I  to eat :apple: and :carrot: and drink . It makes me :) because it tastes http://quinnware.com/forum/images/emots/post/thumbup.gif. But when I have too much, I get :knocked-o and :skull:.

I also like uniformity. I think we should just stick to the green smileys.

Jeez. What if my mom walks by as I'm reading these posts.

"What are you reading with all those swear-words, son?"
"Oh, we're talking about fonts and favorite colors."

 Lame...

if you're old enough to participate in this forum you're old enough to view the odd swear word , i didn't see you complaining about toes post that contained this type of language ...

I was just wondering what policy on language was...

"the odd swear word?" you say that as if it was one. if it was one, i'd be fine. i don't really care that you're swearing in your posts except for the fact that I feel self-concious as I'm reading it. I don't want to hear it from my mom about wasting my time reading garbage.

I said what I did as a blanket statement. Do you want me to go post the same exact thing in that thread?

sorry "mom" todd says he won't swear a second time .
you are not reading garbage either, just a free willed humans posting .
because i don't have a fast connection
this is kind of hard to "keep on top of " all the posts.
i'll just wait for you all to finish trolling me and return in a few hours to reply.

I don't mean to be gay about the swearing, sorry. And sorry that you feel "trolled."

...and I'm really sorry about the slow connection. :(

I'm starting to think that some people in this post can't get over the fonts and colors. I mean we did not had those features before and nobody complained about them.

We had the old emoticons and everyone was happy. We had a couple of straight fonts and everybody used plain old verdana most of the time. Now recently we got new emoticons and fonts. That didn't even lasted a couple of months so what's the big deal, you lived without them for long time before, you can do fine now that they are gone. And if you can't do without fonts and colors then better don't post anything.

Just because a post doesn't display a rainbow of colors makes it less interesting.

I never used that features that much, because this forum is intended for smart people that show / demostrate creativity in other ways rather than "lets see who can make the most colorful thread". I mean if you truly need to show your creativity that way, then find a wall and a couple of brushes and sprays and do a graphitti, because here in the forums, that ain't appreciated much.

Now I see the focus of this whole forum shifting to fonts and colors and that is really pathetic.
